My fine art print Spring Torment Blue has been selected as one of the finalists for the 2016 Nonesuch Art on Paper Awards. To-date, my work has only been exhibited in Moncton, on a limited basis, via the Moncton Gallery's Annual Juried Exhibition. Thus, selection for this group exhibition will provide gallery exposure in Nova Scotia and Québec. I'm also hopeful it will introduce my work to collectors and curators in both of those provinces and, potentially, both nationally and internationally.
The Nonesuch Art on Paper Awards are "international awards to recognize, to exhibit and to reward the accomplishments of Contemporary Artist's work on or with paper". Selected finalists are included in two group exhibitions: Parrsboro, Nova Scotia, from 20 August to 10 September 2016; and, Montréal, Québec, from 30 September to 14 October 2016. A number of awards, including residencies and cash prizes, are also available. The Parrsboro exhibition will be shown at the Main & Station gallery, 168 Main Street, with a vernissage at 3:00 pm, 20 August 2016. The Montréal exhibition will be at 141 Ann Street, Montreal.
All submissions to the 2016 Nonesuch Art on Paper Awards (not just the finalists) may be viewed in the online Catalogue of Entries.
